UFC Fight Night Moncton, din New Brunswick, Canada, a oferit un main event pe cinste prin lupta pusă în scenă de Volkan Oezdemir și Anthony Smith la categoria Light-Heavyweight.
Anthony Smith a reușit să-l submita pe Volkan în Runda a 3-a pentru a-și câștiga dreptul de a se lupta pentru centură împotrivă câștigătorului dintre Jon Jones și Alexander Gustafsson (asta în cazul în care nu va reveni Daniel Cormier la Light-Heavyweight, după ce își va apăra centura la categoria Heavyweight).
Meciul a fost unul sângeros, iar fanii canadieni au primit ceea ce meritau – o gală reușită și câteva lupte cu adevărat spectaculaose.

O altă partidă care a atras atenția fanilor a fost cea dintre Artem Lobov, prietenul, coechipierul și partenerul de antrenament al lui Conor McGregor, care s-a luptat împotriva lui Michael Johnson. Acesta din urmă a acceptat lupta cu doar 2 săptămâni înștiințare și a ratat cu aproximativ 400 de grame proba cântarului.
Artem Lobov a pierdut această partidă, ajungând să aibă un palmares pe negativ, cu 14 victorii, 15 înfrângeri, 1 egal și 1 NC (no contest / meci anulat). Cel mai probabil șefii UFC îi vor rezilia contractul, cel puțin dacă McGregor nu va interveni cu o ‘vorbă bună’.
